Terms of Service

The short version

Pay once, use Charge Ninja for life. Don't abuse it. We help you spot and exit subscriptions — we don't move money for you or guarantee any specific savings.

The long version is below in plain English.

1.Agreement

By creating an account, installing the app, or using chargeninja.app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Charge Ninja.

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Charge Ninja ("we", "us"). You must be at least 13 years old to use Charge Ninja.

2.Your license

Charge Ninja offers a one-time lifetime license to use the app. When you pay (whenever paid plans go live), you get:

Lifetime access to the Pro features available at the time of purchase.
Future updates to those features, as long as we keep operating Charge Ninja.
The right to use the app on devices you personally own and control.

The license is non-transferable and tied to your account. You may not resell, sublicense, or share your account.

No recurring billing. Charge Ninja is not a subscription. We will never auto-renew you. If we ever add an optional subscription product, it will be a clearly separate purchase you choose to make.

3.The free tier

You can use Charge Ninja without paying. The free tier includes manual subscription tracking, Cancel Mode, Savings Goals, your Money Health Score, alerts, and money education. Some advanced features (like AI receipt scanning and Family caregiving) are reserved for the lifetime tier.

4.Refunds

If you buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple and Google according to their refund policies. If you buy directly from us, we offer a 30-day refund — no questions asked. Email hello@chargeninja.app.

5.What Charge Ninja actually does

Charge Ninja is an informational tool. We help you:

Track subscriptions you enter manually or via receipt scan.
Identify likely waste and surface alerts.
Generate cancellation guidance — Cancel Mode produces emails, phone scripts, and step-by-step instructions.
Coordinate with trusted family members through the caregiver feature.

Important: We don't directly cancel subscriptions for you, move money on your behalf, or negotiate with merchants. Cancel Mode gives you the script — you press send. If a merchant ignores the cancellation request, that is between you and the merchant.

6.AI features

If you use the AI receipt scanner, results may be wrong. AI extraction is best-effort — always verify the amount, merchant, and date before relying on it. Your Anthropic API key is used to run these calls; usage is billed by Anthropic directly to that key.

7.No financial advice

Charge Ninja shows you information about your own spending and suggests common moves like canceling unused services or starting a savings goal. This is not financial advice. We are not a bank, broker, investment advisor, or tax professional. Money decisions are yours.

8.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Charge Ninja to track or manage someone else's subscriptions without their permission. The caregiver feature only works when both sides accept the invite.
Try to break, scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
Use Charge Ninja to harass, defraud, or impersonate anyone.
Upload illegal content, malware, or other people's confidential data without their consent.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

9.Your data

You own your data. We process it as described in the Privacy Policy. You can export or delete it any time.

10.Your account security

You're responsible for keeping your password and your Anthropic API key (if you provide one) safe. Tell us right away if you think your account has been compromised: hello@chargeninja.app.

11.Changes to the service

We may update, change, or remove features over time. We will try to give reasonable notice before removing major features. If we wind down Charge Ninja entirely, we will provide an export window of at least 30 days.

12.Termination

You can stop using Charge Ninja and delete your account any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if continuing to provide the service is not legally or practically possible.

13.Disclaimer of warranties

Charge Ninja is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee specific savings, that every charge will be detected, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

14.Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Charge Ninja and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, or lost data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Charge Ninja will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $50 if you haven't paid us anything.

15.Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of Charge Ninja, your violation of these terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.

16.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to that jurisdiction. (We'll update this if our principal place of business changes.)

17.Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a material way, we'll notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
